Smart formula for success
Autosmart International, the UK’s largest manufacturer of vehicle cleaning products, is celebrating after winning the HSBC Franchisee Support Award for outstanding franchisee support. This is their 4th top award from the bfa in the last 6 years.
Commenting on their success, managing director, Sophie Atkinson said, “this is a really prestigious award and winning it is a huge compliment to our commitment to every franchisee. We’re motivated by helping franchisees to build their own successful and profitable businesses. I am thrilled that our franchisee support has been singled out as the best by some of the UK’s leading authorities in franchising.
“We’ve been franchising for over 30 years now and we know that excellent franchisee support from day 1 really makes the difference. Every new franchisee is allocated his own local business coach to work with him in the field, helping him improve his sales and product knowledge. In the first 6 months his coach will be with him for around 1 in every 4 days. This intensity of support ensures that every franchisee has the best possible start, whilst building a stable and profitable future for himself and his family. “
The coaches help franchisees throughout their franchise life, whenever they need a bit of additional support or advice. “It is really important to us that this help is there when franchisees need it,” adds Sophie. “We think that this is all part of being a responsible franchisor and is the reason why we have invested so heavily in our coaching team.”
Commenting on the win, Cathryn Hayes, head of franchising, HSBC, said: “Providing strategic support to franchisees is critical to being a good franchisor. As ever, judging the finalists was difficult but Autosmart demonstrated a level of commitment to their franchise owners that really impressed us. They are a great example of how being innovative and not afraid to take risks to support franchisees can pay off.”

Frank Sutherland, Autosmart franchisee for Aberdeen, is celebrating after being chosen as Scottish Franchisee of the Year, by the British Franchise Association and coming runner-up in the overall British Franchisee of the Year Awards.
